Terms of Service

These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of the ReNood mobile application (the "App") and related services provided by ReNood ("we," "our," or "us"). By downloading, installing, or using the App, you agree to be bound by these Terms.

1. Description of Service

ReNood is a subscription tracking application that helps users monitor recurring charges, receive renewal reminders, and share subscription costs with groups ("Tribes"). The App is a personal finance tool for informational purposes and does not constitute financial advice.

2. Eligibility

You must be at least 13 years old to use ReNood. If you are under 18, you represent that you have your parent or guardian's permission to use the App. By using ReNood, you represent and warrant that you meet these eligibility requirements.

3. Account Registration

To use ReNood, you must create an account using Apple Sign In, Google Sign In, or email. You are responsible for maintaining the security of your account credentials and for all activity that occurs under your account. You agree to notify us immediately of any unauthorized use.

4. Subscription Tracking

ReNood allows you to manually enter, import, or track subscriptions. You are solely responsible for the accuracy of the subscription information you enter. ReNood does not have access to your bank accounts, credit cards, or payment methods, and cannot verify the accuracy of data you provide.

Renewal dates and amounts displayed in the App are estimates based on the information you provide. Actual charges from service providers may differ. ReNood is not responsible for any discrepancies between displayed amounts and actual charges.

5. Tribes and Shared Subscriptions

Tribes allow groups of users to track shared subscription costs. By joining a Tribe, you agree that:

  • Other Tribe members can see shared subscription details and your payment status
  • The Tribe owner can manage membership and subscription assignments
  • Payment tracking within Tribes is informational only — ReNood does not process actual payments between members
  • You are responsible for settling payments with other Tribe members through your preferred payment method (Venmo, bank transfer, cash, etc.)

6. In-App Purchases and Subscriptions

ReNood offers a free tier with limited features and paid subscription tiers (Pro, Tribe+) with additional features. Paid subscriptions are billed through the Apple App Store or Google Play Store and are subject to their respective terms and refund policies.

  • Free tier: Up to 5 active subscriptions
  • Paid tiers unlock additional subscriptions, Tribe creation, and premium features
  • Subscriptions automatically renew unless cancelled at least 24 hours before the end of the current period
  • You can manage or cancel your subscription in your device's App Store settings

7. User Content

You retain ownership of all content you provide to the App, including subscription data, receipt images, and profile information. By using the App, you grant us a limited license to store, process, and display this content solely for the purpose of providing the service to you.

8. Acceptable Use

You agree not to:

  • Use the App for any unlawful purpose
  • Attempt to gain unauthorized access to other users' accounts or data
  • Interfere with or disrupt the App's infrastructure
  • Use automated means to access the App (bots, scrapers, etc.)
  • Upload malicious content or content that infringes on others' rights
  • Use Tribes to harass, coerce, or pressure others for payment

9. Intellectual Property

The App, including its design, code, features, and content (excluding user-provided data), is owned by ReNood and protected by intellectual property laws. You may not copy, modify, distribute, or create derivative works based on the App without our written permission.

10. Privacy

Your use of ReNood is also governed by our Privacy Policy, which describes how we collect, use, and protect your information. By using the App, you consent to our data practices as described in the Privacy Policy.

11. Disclaimers

ReNood is not a financial advisor. The App provides tools for tracking subscriptions and does not offer financial, investment, tax, or legal advice. Decisions about cancelling or modifying subscriptions are solely your responsibility.

The App is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, either express or implied. We do not warrant that the App will be uninterrupted, error-free, or free of harmful components.

12. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, ReNood shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, including but not limited to loss of profits, data, or goodwill, arising from your use of or inability to use the App.

Our total liability for any claims arising from these Terms or your use of the App shall not exceed the amount you have paid us in the twelve (12) months preceding the claim.

13. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless ReNood and its officers, directors, employees, and agents from any claims, damages, losses, or expenses arising from your use of the App or violation of these Terms.

14. Termination

You may stop using ReNood and delete your account at any time through the App's settings. We may suspend or terminate your account if you violate these Terms or if we discontinue the service. Upon termination, your right to use the App ceases immediately.

15. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. We will notify you of significant changes through the App or by email. Continued use of ReNood after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms. If you disagree with the changes, you should stop using the App.

16. Governing Law

These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the jurisdiction in which ReNood operates, without regard to conflict of law principles.

17. Dispute Resolution

Any disputes arising from these Terms or your use of the App shall first be attempted to be resolved through good-faith negotiation. If negotiation fails, disputes shall be resolved through binding arbitration in accordance with applicable arbitration rules.

18. Severability

If any provision of these Terms is found to be unenforceable, the remaining provisions will continue in full force and effect.
