ReNood ("we," "our," or "us") is committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, store, and share information when you use the ReNood mobile application (the "App") and related services.

By using ReNood, you agree to the collection and use of information as described in this policy.

1. Information We Collect

Account Information

When you create an account, we collect your email address and display name. If you sign in with Apple or Google, we receive the information you authorize those services to share (typically your name and email address).

Subscription Data

You voluntarily provide information about your subscriptions, including service names, amounts, billing frequencies, and renewal dates. This data is stored to provide the core functionality of the App. We do not access your bank accounts, credit cards, or payment methods directly.

Imported Receipts

When you use the screenshot import feature, images you upload are processed using AI (optical character recognition) to extract subscription details. Uploaded images are stored temporarily for processing and are deleted after extraction is complete.

Tribe and Sharing Data

If you create or join a Tribe, we store the group membership, shared subscription assignments, and payment tracking information you provide. Other Tribe members can see shared subscription details and payment statuses within their Tribe.

Device Information

We collect device identifiers for push notification delivery. We do not collect device advertising identifiers (IDFA) or track you across other apps or websites.

Usage Analytics

We collect anonymous usage analytics to improve the App, such as which features are used and general interaction patterns. These analytics never include personally identifiable information, financial amounts, or subscription details.

2. How We Use Your Information

We use the information we collect to:

  • Provide, maintain, and improve the App's subscription tracking features
  • Send you renewal reminders and notifications you've configured
  • Facilitate Tribe features including cost splitting and payment tracking
  • Process imported receipts and screenshots
  • Respond to support requests
  • Analyze anonymous usage patterns to improve the App

We do not sell your personal information. We do not use your data for targeted advertising. We do not share your subscription details with third parties for marketing purposes.

3. Data Storage and Security

Your data is stored securely using industry-standard encryption. Our backend infrastructure is hosted by Supabase, which uses PostgreSQL databases with encryption at rest and in transit. Authentication tokens are stored in your device's secure keychain.

We implement Row Level Security (RLS) policies to ensure you can only access your own data. Tribe data is accessible only to confirmed members of that Tribe.

4. Third-Party Services

We use the following third-party services to operate the App:

  • Supabase — Database hosting, authentication, and file storage
  • RevenueCat — In-app purchase and subscription management
  • OneSignal — Push notification delivery
  • OpenAI — Receipt image processing (OCR)
  • Sentry — Crash reporting and error tracking (no PII included)

Each service processes only the minimum data necessary for its function. We do not share your subscription details, financial information, or browsing habits with these providers beyond what is required for their specific service.

5. Data Retention

We retain your account data for as long as your account is active. Subscription data is kept for the duration of your account to provide historical tracking. Uploaded receipt images are deleted after processing (typically within 24 hours).

If you delete your account, we will delete your personal data within 30 days. Anonymized aggregate data (such as usage statistics) may be retained. Financial records required for audit purposes are anonymized upon account deletion.

6. Your Rights

You have the right to:

  • Access — Request a copy of all data we hold about you
  • Correct — Update or correct inaccurate data
  • Delete — Request deletion of your account and associated data
  • Export — Download your subscription data in a portable format
  • Withdraw consent — Opt out of optional data collection at any time

7. Children's Privacy

ReNood is not intended for children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If we discover that a child under 13 has provided us with personal information, we will promptly delete it.

8. Push Notifications

We send push notifications only for features you've opted into, such as renewal reminders and Tribe payment updates. You can disable notifications at any time through your device settings or within the App.

9. Cookies and Tracking

The ReNood mobile app does not use cookies. Our website (renood.com) uses only essential, functional cookies required for the site to operate. We do not use tracking cookies, advertising pixels, or cross-site tracking technologies.

10. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of significant changes through the App or by email. Continued use of ReNood after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
